Sari couldn't be any happier. With a full stomach, a strong Beta and the promise of a pack in the future, she couldn't help but feel excited.
"Let me know if you see anything," Sari called back to Alla Verra, as they loped through the forest. She knew they would find something, eventually, but whether they found a den before the sun fell was a different story. Yes, sari had slept many a night on her own, with no one else for protection, but being an Alpha, even if she only had one member to look after, she couldn't help but feel a little inadequte for not having scouted out a Den before hand.
Sari glanced up at the sky, well, what little of it she could see through the tree canpoy. It was dappled in oranges and pinks, a sure sign they had but an hour or so before they lost light. Not that, it affected her vision, it was the shadows she worried about. No one could ever be certain what they hid.
Then, rounding a few trees, almost as if by some devine grace, her eyes spotted a cave, nestled in at the base of a small hill.
"Alla Verra!" She called, jumping around in excitment, "I've found it."

Alla Verra smiled. The cave did indeed show shelter, and protection. She went up to the cave. She began to make sure it was abandoned and in good condition.
Whent the cave checked out all right, she sombered in. It was lit inside by a small hole in the wall, as if put there as a window. She saw moss and what looked to be a place for food storage.
She walked over to the hole in the ground. She removed the rock from its passage and looked in. To her suprise, it had some left over dear meat and some dead birds.
"Sari, come here! I found a food storage area with food in it!" she yellped. Then she thought, why would food and a bed be here alone? What had happened to its previous owners?

“What?” Sari asked, plodding over to Alla Verra. She glanced at her beta, before nudging her aside softly and looking inside the food storage place. It was fairly fresh.
Her eyes swept around the cave. If someone had already laid claim to this Cave, to this territory then she was in for a serious problem. Sari had no wish to fight for territory. She breathed deeply, noting the smell of another wolf on the air. It was faint, the smell of other animals, deer, boar and rabbits much stronger, much more recent. Perhaps the previous owner had abandoned the cave? Sari rushed over to the bed of moss, sniffing it warily. It was a male wolf, his musky scent tinged with the slightly salty aroma of blood. Was there a wounded wolf out there?
She glanced through the caves window of sorts and growled softly. The faint orange glow had almost been swallowed entirely by the deepening purple of the night sky.
Sari turned to her beta, clearly agitated. If she could have gone now, she would have. Sari felt useless, what good was an alpha who couldn’t help a wolf, who may be in need of help.
“We’ll scout the lands in the morning.” She said more to herself then Alla Verra, “The scent is to faint for the wolf to have been here recently, but we should still check.”
*OOC sorry for the late post, we’ve had a power out for the past two days. Damn you lazy council people, damn you. P.S. it’s been kind of cool sitting in the candle light though.*

{{OOC lol, i had that happen once.. my parents sat up all night playing cards since there was nuthing else to do..}}
Alla Verra shook her head no. "I am sorry for defing you, but I think at least one of us should go and scout. The wolf may be out there and coming back."
She looked at her apologeticly. "I dont want harm to come to either of us in the night. I will go search. You, sleep." With that, she slid out of the cave. She ran into the woods, following the faint scent.
---------------------------*---------------------------------- (in the woods)
Alla Verra took in a long breath. She could barely smell the brute now. she followed the scent ever further.
About an hour later, the sun was gone and life seemed gone. The brutes scent became stronger and stronger.
She came upon a border. She stopped at it and looked about. She then saw something that would scar her for life.
Bones.
She went over the border to the bones. She smelled their fresh scent. It was the brute she had been tracking. He was killed and devoured by something.
She ran towards the cave as fast as she could.

Sari watched her beta slide out of the cave and growled. She had openly defied her, and had it not be for the faint flicker of hope that the wounded male may perhaps return to the cave tonight, she would of followed her, snapped at her to remind Alla Verra who the Alpha was. However, at the same time, she respected her, there were not many wolfs who would be so bold as to strut out into the forest at night, unprotected and uncertain of any dangers to search for a wounded wolf.
Shaking her head, her ears flopping about, Sari wondered around the cave, her nose to the ground as she searched. She was't sure what she was looking for, so it was hard to feel disappointed when she found nothing. Snorting in frustration she trotted over to the bed of moss. She wouldn't sleep, not when she knew her beta was out there, but she was tired. Her limps and muscels weary.
Sari lowered her hunches down, crossed her paws over in front her, and rested her head on top of them. Her cool blue eyes never left the cave entrance and her ears stayed up and alert, ready to detect even the faintest snap of a twig.
Sari wasn't really sure how long she had been lying there, but it hand felt close to over an hour, and with each dragging minute she grew more anxious. Was it stupid of her to wait in a cave for a wolf that may not even be in the Sunlight Moor Lands? Should she have perhaps gone with her Beta and protected atleast one wolf she knew for sure was alive?
Sari's ears picked up the very faint, but distinct sound of paws hiting the earth. This wolf was running. Immediately she jumped from the bed of moss and darted to the cave entrance. Her beta rushed into view and she darted forwards, the look on Alla Verra's face saying everything.
"What did you find?"

Alla Verra fell to the ground. Her legs vouldn't take her any futher. She looked up at her alphess.
"I found the wolf, but he was dead." she took in a short rasping breath. "He was murdered and devoured by something. All I saw was bones."
She then felt her fear burst out. Tears streamed down her face. Vomit slowlly made its way up her throat.

Sari’s previous anger had dissolved the instant she saw how drained her beta was, her mothering instincts taking over. She would worry about the wolf’s murder later, right now her beta needed her. Hiding her own fear behind what she hoped was a calm visage, she nudged Alla Verra’s shoulder softly with her nose.
“Come on?” she nudged her again, trying to help her stand up “You need to rest”

Alla Verra stood slowly. Her legs were barely able to hold her up. She slowly walked into the cave. She gave one last smile at her alpha for understanding, then she fell into a deep sleep.

Sari settled down on the bed of moss, her eyes trained on the cave entrance. She couldn't sleep, not when she knew something was out there murdering wolves. She would stay awake all night if she had to.
~*~ Morning ~*~
The faint light of the morning streamed in through the cave's window, falling across Sari's face. She blinked here eyes open, fear shotting through her until her eyes fell upon the still sleeping light brown fur of her beta. She didn't know when she fell asleep, but exhaustion had eventually won out and she had slipped into a deep and refreshing sleep.
Rising from the bed she stretched, her front legs stiff as she sunk lower, a soft huff creeping from between her lips. Straightening back up she shook, the pale dust bursting from her fur in a soft cloud. Glancing back to her beta, she loped to the cave entrance and lowered her haunches, the sunlight making her white fur, illuminated in a soft golden halo.

Alla Verra was awoke by a sudden burst of white light. She found it was her alpha. She admired her fur. She envied it.
She shook this notion from her head and stood. She went over to the storage hole and took out two rabbits and a chunk of deer. She took the meat and went out of the cave.
"Here." she said, laying it in front of Sari. She took one of the rabbits and began to eat it.

Sari was pleased her Beta had brought her food, but she could only chew aimlessly. She almost imitated exactly, the way any tame dog chewed at a bone. They gained no nutritional value from it, merely doing it to entertain themselves, or in Sari’s case to keep her Beta from guessing she was worried.
Sari had been an Alpha for barely one day and night, and already she felt like she was failing. Somewhere out there, in the lands that she had claimed as her own a wolf had been murdered, viciously to, if her Beta’s reaction last night was anything to go by. Alla Verra as Sari knew was going to be a key part in her pack staying strong. Yes, she had already defied her twice, but both times, it had not been for her own benefit.
“Alla Verra,” she said softly, waiting until her beta looked at her before continuing “I’m so grateful to have you in my pack.” Suddenly self-conscious, Sari dropped her eyes to the rabbit in front of her and tore a piece off, swallowing it immediately, for something to do.

Alla Verra could sense the worrie emiting from her alpha. She knew it was about the brute she descovered.
Her forced mouthful. Her worried scent. Something must be bothering her. Alla Verra thought to her self.
"Thank you for your gratetude. I am pleased as well." She lied. Right now was not a moment to be pleased. It was a moment to greive over alost breatheren, know or not.
She smiled at her alpha, though. She did not want to show any weakness right now.

Sari’s eyes travelled over her beta as she wondered whether they should go and do something for the murdered wolf’s soul. She couldn’t leave him out there; leave his soul never given the proper grievance. Yes, it would mean she’d have to take Alla Verra back to his remains, back to the site which had horrified her so much last night.
Standing up tall, she looked down at Alla Verra, Sari had no patience to pretend to eat anymore, “Come Alla Verra,” she said determination burning in her voice.
“I want you to take me to this wolf; we need to mourn for our lost brother.”

Dagger sprinted through the small section of forest. The trees flew past him, his target was the smell of wolves. He passed the pile of bones, that made him run faster.
He slowed to a lope as he entered the clearing by a cave. Two Fae's where standing there. One was noticeably dominant. The other Fae held herself high but was clearly in a lower position.
Dagger pinned his eyes directly on to the Alphess, stepping closer until he was directly in front of the Alphess.
"Hello, I'm Dagger. I asaume you're the Alphess...if you are I would like to join the pack."
The words coming out of his mouth pained him as he remembered the scared, sad look on his sister, Calypso's face when he left himself. Dagger cursed himself silently for leaving her with the Unknown Male, but it had to be done.

Sari whirled to face the new wolf to the clearing. She tried to keep the suprise out of her eyes. He was her complete opposite, his fur a startling rich black, contrasting brilliantly in comparision to her completely white pelt. Where the sun touched his fur, it shone in a bightness, reflecting the sun completely while her fur absorbed it, the sun casting a golden halo around her. Her heart spluttered pleasantly, horrifing her for a moment, until she realised he hadn’t heard it, when she noticed his piercing blue eyes. They were so much like her own. Her heart filled with compasion when she noticed the sadness, heavily vieled by his current mood. Yes, his confidence hid the sadness rather succesfully, but it was obvious to her, it was kind of like the giant rock beneath the surface of a clear blue lake. On some days, the rock was plainly obvious and on others, it was almost invisible, almost impossible to spot unless you knew what to look for.
He spoke almost immediately without hesitation, and she realised she had been studying every aspect of him instead of taking a wary stance and placing herself in front of her Beta, until he had shown no intention to harm them. He introduced himself as Dagger, then asked to join the pack. Sari was shocked, she could admit it. It had happened so suddenly. Just seconds before he had appeared out of the forest Sari had been so afraid, fearful for the safty of her pack, and in some way, he made her feel safer. Shaking her head, she pushed everything to the back of her mind and forced herself to concentrate on acting like the alphess she was.
Sari threw her head up high, noding her head slightly at Dagger, to show she would not harm him, that he was welcome in her lands “I would be pleased, if you would join my pack.” Sari realised a little to late that she was out right staring at him again, turning back to her beta, her eyes fell on the unfinished piece of meat she hadn’t eaten. She nosed it towards him, “Eat. You must be hungry.”
Sari backed up a bit, setteling on her hunches, “I wouldn’t go waltzing into others lands so freely Dagger. Had you come across someone else they may have killed you.”
